COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou freshman Jontay Porter has joined his brother in declaring for the NBA draft but is leaving the door open for a return.

In a post on the Mizzou Basketball Twitter account, Porter said he will be taking the next step his lifelong dream of playing in the NBA by declaring for the draft. However, he said he will not be hiring an agent, meaning he can keep his college eligibility if the draft process does not go as well as he hopes.

Porter was the SEC co-sixth-man of the year in 2017-18. He averaged about 10 points, seven rebounds, two assists and 1.7 blocks.

Michael Porter Jr. declared for the draft in a video posted to Instagram last month. Michael Porter Jr., who was a top NBA prospect before the 2017-18 college basketball season, played just three games for the Tigers after suffering a back injury and undergoing surgery.
