Businesses cashing in on Blues big win

Arch Apparel sold 2,000 championship T-shirts within 20 minutes.

BRENTWOOD, Mo. — At Arch Apparel, Christiana Zipay wore her vintage St. Louis Blues jersey and hat while she shopped for new gear.

“It's been crazy,” Zipay said. “We've spent so much on this stuff already, but you have to do it. Once in a lifetime.”

The shirt of the day at Arch Apparel said “finally,” with an image of the Stanley Cup in place of the letter “I”.

“I think it speaks to everyone in St. Louis and everyone seems to be loving it,” said Aaron Park, the owner of Arch Apparel.

Park launched the “finally” shirt as soon as the Blues won. He sold 2,000 shirts online in the first 20 minutes.

“It's going to be a big day for us, which is cool,” Park said. “This is some of the residual effects of what winning the cup does for our city and the businesses in it.”

The store is receiving about 1,000 shirts from its printer in St. Charles every couple of hours. Park said he added 15 news employees because of the Blues’ success.

Even the famous Imo’s Guy couldn’t resist, so he’ll be trading in his signature red for blue and gold.

“So, here we are finally,” Imo’s Guy said. “It captures it, sweet and to the point. I'll be wearing this for a long time.”
