I-270 closures begin in north St. Louis County

MODOT is closing the westbound I-270 exit ramp to New Halls Ferry Road permanently

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A heads up for drivers who travel along Interstate 270 and Dunn Road near New Halls Ferry Road in north St. Louis County.

MoDOT is closing the westbound I-270 exit ramp to New Halls Ferry Road permanently.

You’ll now have to get off on MoDOT's new exit on Old Halls Ferry Road, then continue west on Dunn Road to get around the closure.

The eastbound lane of Dunn from New Halls Ferry to Old Halls Ferry will also close. Drivers can detour by using the eastbound New Halls Ferry exit or Pershall Road Bridge.

You can use Pershall to travel from New Halls Ferry to Old Halls Ferry on the eastbound side of the interstate. This closure is expected to last about two months.

Once Dunn reopens, it will become a one-way westbound outer road.

In the meantime, only the westbound Dunn Road lane will stay open to traffic between Old Halls Ferry and New Halls Ferry.

Animated detours will be posted on the I-270 North Project website. Travelers can also contact MoDOT's customer service center at 1-314-275-1500 or the I-270 North Project Team at I-270North@modot.mo.gov.
