Kirkwood reopening Clay Avenue Bridge

On Monday, the city announced that a structural engineer did not find any structural issues with the bridge.

KIRKWOOD, Mo. — The city of Kirkwood has reopened the Clay Avenue Bridge less than a week after closing it due to signs of stress.

According to a post on the city's Facebook page, the city closed the bridge over the railroad tracks Thursday until it could be inspected. On Monday, the city announced that a structural engineer did not find any structural issues with the bridge.

The Clay Avenue overpass bridge has reopened to both pedestrian and vehicular traffic. A structural engineer found no structural issues with the bridge.
