Highway 67 reopens just south of I-55 after deadly tractor-trailer crash

All lanes of Highway 67 were closed after a tractor-trailer crash just south of I-55, but traffic was getting by on the shoulders.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. — A man was killed in a tractor-trailer crash that spilled diesel fuel on Highway 67 near Meyer Road in Jefferson CountyTuesday afternoon.

The MoDOT traveler map said the cash was reported at around 3 p.m., and the Missouri State Highway Patrol said the truck overturned, closing all lanes in both directions. The road was reopened just after 6 p.m.

The highway patrol said the truck was leaking diesel fuel. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources was called to the scene as well.

The highway patrol said the truck driver had to be flown from the scene by helicopter with serious injuries. He died at the hospital.

He was later identified as 43-year-old Brian Real.
