Another round of wintry weather expected to hit the bi-state Wednesday

Sleet and snow is expected to begin Wednesday and transition to rain

ST. LOUIS — Sleet and snow will begin Wednesday in the late morning and eventually transition to all rain very quickly.

St. Louis will see mostly rain through the day as temperatures hover in the middle 30s.

Steady, cold rain will continue through the evening before there’s a quick change-over to sleet and snow as the system moves away.

Wednesday night into Thursday morning, light snow will fall across the area, but only a dusting to 1 inch of snow is expected in St. Louis metro.

1-3 inches of snow are possible across Pike, Lincoln, and Montgomery counties in Missouri and in Calhoun and Greene counties in Illinois.

Snow should come to an end early Thursday morning with very cold temperatures.

On Thursday morning, expect teens and by the afternoon highs only top out near 30. Friday morning is even colder with single digits.
