A Heat Advisory is in effect for the St. Louis metro area through Wednesday evening, and includes St. Louis, St. Charles, Madison, & St. Clair counties.
Heat index values both today and tomorrow will range between 101-106 for the metro area, and will likely top 100 in the surrounding areas.
Make sure to stay hydrated and take breaks if you must be exposed to the heat for long periods of time.
Remember, the heat can be harsh on pets since they do not have the ability to cool themselves through perspiration. Bring them inside or make sure they have a shaded shelter with access to plenty of cool water.
Cooler air will move in by late week as a cold front drops in from the north, bringing temperatures and humidity down through the weekend.
