ST. LOUIS — Rain will be the story of the day Monday in the St. Louis metro area—not ice.
Rain has been falling south of the metro area overnight & will continue to push north through the day Monday.
That means rain for St. Louis metro area, especially by mid-day into the afternoon & evening rush hour. The morning will be dry in spots with rain covering the entire area by lunchtime.
While we’re not expecting icy conditions, MoDOT officials said they aren’t taking any chances. MoDOT has more than 100 trucks on standby ready to deploy if the roads turn icy.
They also urged drivers to be careful and give yourselves a little extra time to get where you’re going.
Rain will continue overnight Monday into early Tuesday morning. Rain will end Tuesday mid-day before it turns colder.
St. Louis could get up to .50 – 1.50” of rain during this event.
By mid-week, we warm up into the 50s.
