Snowy, slow morning commute Monday

No mixed precipitation is expected, but roads could become slippery or slushy into the afternoon, especially if untreated.

Big weather changes are on the way for the bi-state with our next strong cold front.

Upper levels winds will escort a vigorous clipper system through the region this morning. Snow is ongoing now and continue over parts of the metro area through the early morning commute.

Temperatures will fall throughout the day today, and winds will increase during the late morning and afternoon hours. Steady snowfall will remain in metro St. Louis through 7 to 8 AM, and exit the bi-state around the lunch hour or shortly after to the southeast.

Wind chills in the teens Monday morning will drop to the single digits Monday afternoon.

1-2" of snow accumulation is possible area-wide.

Dangerously cold air will follow the snow Monday night into Tuesday morning, with wind chills dipping to -15° to -20° below zero.
