STORM ALERT RADAR | Scattered storms expected to develop

A cold front is making its way into the bi-state, giving us a chance for afternoon and early evening thunderstorms in metro St. Louis today.

TOWN AND COUNTRY, Mo. — Thousands of fans on the golf course grounds at Bellerive Country Club for the PGA Championship may have to find a safe place if thunderstorms move close to the course Friday afternoon.

Isolated storms have developed across the bi-state, including the metro area near a cold front that continues to sink south. These will become more numerous toward early evening.

While the threat for severe weather looks low, lightning and some downpours could cause problems for the players and crowds at the PGA Championship. Gusty winds up to 40 mph are also possible with stronger cells.

Slightly cooler temperatures expected for the weekend with only a stray shower chance on Saturday and no rain on Sunday, and highs back into the 80s.

Monday looks dry before showers and thunderstorms return to the bi-state for Tuesday through the end of the upcoming work-week.
