4th of July in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS — The Fourth of July weekend is here, and it seems that everyone has plans.

If you don't, don't feel bad—I have no plans either! I'll be at the 5 On Your Side studios watching storms develop.

If you do have outdoor plans, here's what you need to know:

  • Storms will roll through for most of the day Saturday;
  • Only spot storms will hit on Sunday and Monday.

Let's get into the details.

Storms on Saturday could grow to be severe, with damaging wind gusts as the primary threat. Use the video below as a guide to plan your day.

Primarily showers and storms will impact St. Louis between 11 a.m.–5 p.m. A second round of storms will come through around midnight.

While Saturday's forecast isn't ideal for a holiday weekend, Sunday and Monday are looking just fine. Yes, there will be spot storms, but it won't be anything like Saturday.

Here's the guide for Sunday and Monday:

Starting on Monday the heat turns oppressive. We have a full stretch of hot and humid days. Temperatures will be in the high 90s Monday through Friday. Add in humidity, and it will feel like the triple digits most of next week.
