The woman who police said hired a hitman to kill a woman she believed to be her husband's mistress in 2015 was sentenced to 15 years in prison Monday.

Sherri Densing, 35, was charged with conspiracy to commit murder and distribution of a controlled substance in August 2015 when she met with an undercover officer to set up the murder-for-hire plan, a press release from the St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney's office said Monday.

According to the press release, Densing met with the officer and told him to kill the victim and the victim's unborn child. She gave the officer pictures of the victim, keys to the victim's car and what she believed to be a key to the victim's house. She paid the officer $60 to fund the purchase of a gun and vials of morphine.

The entire meeting was caught on video.

The press release said Densing was sentenced to 15 years in prison for one count of first-degree conspiracy to commit murder and one count of distribution of a controlled substance. The sentences will run concurrently, mean she will serve 15 years.
