NORMANDY, Mo. – St. Louisan and NBA guard for the Sacramento Kings will return to his hometown this weekend to present a scholarship in honor of his late brother.

McLemore will present a scholarship at the ‘Friends of Normandy Scholarship Foundation Gala’ on April 26. The annual scholarship fundraiser will be held at Norwood Hills Country Club in Jennings.

Ben’s brother, Kevin, died in November 2018. Kevin was a standout basketball player at Normandy High School and graduated in 2013. He went on to play two seasons at Brown Mackie College and transferred to Jessup in California to be closer to his brother Ben.

The annual Scholarship Gala is a black-tie affair that draws the support of family, alumni, staff and community members. This year’s theme is ‘Let the Good Times Roll.’ The fundraiser kicks off at 6 p.m. with a cocktail hour, with dinner and the formal program beginning at 7 p.m.

The FON Scholarship Foundation is an independent, 501(c)(3) organization which raises funds to help deserving students continue their post-secondary education. Since 2008, these volunteers have raised approximately $300,000 toward scholarships for students to attend universities throughout Missouri and the nation.
