KSDK -- One man is hospitalized and another in custody following a domestic dispute early Monday morning in House Springs, Missouri.

Jefferson County Sheriff Oliver Boyer said that at 8:06 a.m. his deputies responded to the 5100 block of Sycamore Springs in the Sycamore Springs Mobile Home Park.

Investigators believe that 36-year-old William Weitzel was upset that his former girlfriend was in bed with another man. They said Weitzel entered the victim's bedroom, threatened both with a gun and then shot the woman's lover in the head and hand. The wound to the head was a grazing wound and not considered serious.

Weitzel held both suspects at gunpoint for about two hours. He then called his parents to the home. When the parents arrived, Sheriff Boyer said they tried to convince Weitzel to call the police and an amblance for the victim.

At one point, Weitzel and his father fought for the handgun, but the father was unsuccessful. Weitzel allegedly held all four victims at gunpoint for approximately one hour prior to calling 911.

The shooting victim is a 26-year-old and from Springfield, Illinois. He was transported to a local hospital, and is in stable condition. The homeowner's eight-year-old boy was present at the time, but was unaware of the incident and not hurt.

William Weitzel is being held in the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Jail on charges of first degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and felonious restraint.

He is currently in custody with a $250,000.00 cash only bond.
