KSDK -- The visit by President Obama is one that most students at Fox High School in Arnold will never forget.
"It's just crazy that out of all cities that like of all cities he chooses to come to our city.. and that we got the opportunity to come and see him," said 17-year-old junior Amanda Slavik.
Vice President Joe Biden visited Jefferson County last fall.
Other students felt it was special to be so close to the President.
"You see him all the time on TV... but to actually see him here in person and actually have the chace to shake his hand and the fact that you got to have that connection got to meet your actual President of the United States is definitely an experience you don't come by every day," said student Nathan Anton.
Anton felt fortunate to shake President Obama's hand by being in the right place at the right time. He was standing near where the President was exiting.
"I was like.. good job, thank you" said Anton.
Other students who did not get tickets watched the speech from closed-circuit television in their classrooms. Those Newschannel 5's Sharon Stevens talked to gave President Obama a B or above for his performance in his first 100 days.
"He's coming up with all these answers right away.. I just wish I could be there," said student Chelsea Miller.
Psychology teacher Scott Allen felt the visit was important to the students.
"I think it really excites them.. gives everybody a reason to be proud of their school and for us to get national exposure like this is always positive," he said.
