ST. LOUIS — Katie’s Pizza & Pasta Osteria announced it has raised $8,000 from its fresh pasta by the pound sales for an employee emergency fund.
Katie and Ted Collier, co-owners of the restaurant, are matching that amount to bring the total to $16,000 for the fund, according to a press release.
In addition to the fund, 100% of its frozen delivery fee is being passed on to its employees.
“We are proud to have found a safe and creative way to keep going, keep our team healthy, keep giving back, and keep people working,” the owners said. “So please keep ordering from our curbside and frozen menus when you can, and please also order curbside from our friends.”
Last week, the owners also donated $2,000 to the Gateway Resilience Fund and have donated hundreds of hot meals to doctors and nurses who are on the front line of the coronavirus pandemic.
Katie’s has also made some changes to its hours and menu items, according to the release.
Contact-free delivery and curbside pick-up are available for dinner in Rock Hill and Town & Country every day from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. but lunch will no longer be served until further noticed.
The staff has also completely changed the way they cook, serve and do their business due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Everyone is in their own station at more than six feet apart, wearing protective masks, using gloves, assigned pens, phone and terminals, according to the release.
