ST. PETERS, Mo. — Amazon could be getting a huge tax break from the City of St. Peters to build its fulfillment center.

Last week, Amazon announced its plans to open an 800,000 square-foot facility alongside 1,500 jobs.

According to 5 On Your Side's partners at the St. Louis Business Journal, Amazon will receive funding for job recruitment and training. They will also get sales tax exemptions for construction materials as long as they're purchased in Missouri or the City of St. Peters.

Bonds to finance construction and even tax abatements are up for discussion as well. All the details are being negotiated and would have to be reviewed by the taxing district before they could be approved.
