Man firing gun out of sunroof on I-70 hits 3-year-old in STL

Officers said the girl was taken to an area hospital.

ST. LOUIS – Police are investigating after a 3-year-old girl was shot while traveling on Interstate 70 in north St. Louis on Saturday.

Police responded to a BP gas station at I-70 and Union Boulevard around 4:30 p.m. where the 3-year-old was found suffering from a gunshot wound on her leg.

After the girl was shot, the driver of the vehicle pulled into the BP gas station and called police. A 30-year-old woman and a 37-year-old woman were also in the vehicle, but were not injured.

The girl was taken to a hospital where her condition is unknown. Police say she was 'stable' when transported to a hospital.

Police do not have any suspects in custody.
