Man found dead inside mobile home fire in Moscow Mills

The fire occurred in the 200 block of E fourth street around 11:05 p.m. Mowcow Mills police arrived on scene first and tried to rescue the trapped man but were unsuccessful due to heavy smoke.

LINCOLN CO., Mo. – A man was killed in mobile home fire on Tuesday night in Moscow Mills.

The fire occurred in the 200 block of E fourth street around 11:05 p.m. Moscow Mills police arrived on scene first and tried to rescue the trapped man but were unsuccessful due to heavy smoke.

When firefighters arrive, they found heavy fire coming from the home. Firefighters entered through a bedroom window and tried to rescue the trapped man, but they were forced to jump from the window due to heavy fire conditions.

After the fire was extinguished, they found the man inside the home.

Crews from the Lincoln County Ambulance District, Wentzville Fire Protection District, Winfield-Foley Fire Protection District and Old Monroe Fire Protection District assisted during the fire.  

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office.  

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries and were treated on scene.
