John Eilermann of McBride Homes, plans for a $27 million development on The Hill.

ST. LOUIS - Missouri’s largest homebuilder has plans for a $27 million development on The Hill, the city of St. Louis’ Italian neighborhood, as part of a larger residential project.

McBride Homes is under contract for the planned development, called The Manors at La Collina. The property is located off Bischoff Avenue and Hereford Street, just west of Kingshighway Boulevard.

McBride is partnering with the site’s developer, Chicago-based Draper and Kramer, on The Manors at La Collina, which is part of a larger residential development at the property. Draper and Kramer is building an apartment complex at 5006-5030 Daggett Ave., adjacent to where McBride has plans for its new homes. Draper and Kramer, through a spokesperson, said the plan for the apartment project is still being finalized, with the timing of construction still to be determined. Draper and Kramer and partner Sansone Group previously planned for single-family homes at the site and indicated they were working toward selecting a homebuilder for the project.

The homes McBride plans to build as part of the development will be priced from the upper $200,000s to low $300,000s. Sales and construction are expected to begin this spring. The homes will include brick fronts and rear-entry one- and two-car detached garages.

McBride described construction of the 58 homes as the first phase of the development, saying an additional phase could add 18 more homes.
