FARMINGTON, Mo. – One person was injured in an ultralight plane crash in Farmington, the fire chief said.

Farmington Fire Chief Todd Mecey said he is still working to get information on the crash, but he said the plane crashed in a field near the Farmington Airport.

A spokesman for the Missouri Highway Patrol said the crash happened at around 3:40. One person was in the plane when it went down. He was able to crawl out of the plane shortly after the crash.

Witnesses told the Missouri State Highway Patrol the plane was above the airport when it appeared to have engine problems.
