Police hope new security video can help solve 2016 murder case

In a new YouTube video, police said she left a bar alone at around midnight and was found shot dead about an hour later. Security video shows a car is seen following closely behind as she drove down St. Louis Avenue.

ST. LOUIS – Police are asking for public assistance in identifying a car of interest in a 2016 murder investigation.

Danesha Barnes, 33, was found lifeless in a car on the 3700 block of St. Louis Avenue on Feb. 15, 2016. Police said she was in the driver's seat suffering from a gunshot to the neck as her car sat crashed into a fence.

In a new YouTube video, police said she left a bar alone at around midnight and was found shot dead about an hour later. Security video shows a car is seen following closely behind as she drove down St. Louis Avenue.

Police are asking anyone with information about the case or the car in the video to call CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS.
