A federal lawsuit has been filed against Centene, alleging the company failed to provide an adequate network of physicians in 15 states.
The suit, filed Thursday in Washington State, alleges that Centene members have had difficulty finding, and in many cases cannot find, a provider who will accept the company's coverage, the New York Times reports.
According to the suit, Centene misrepresents the number of provider in its network "by listing physicians, medical groups and other providers — some of whom have specifically asked to be removed — as participants in their networks and by listing nurses and other non-physicians as primary care providers."
