A police officer with the Terre Du Lac Police Department was killed Sunday afternoon in a single-vehicle accident.
According to the police department, 28-year-old Officer Adam King was on his way home from a 10-hour shift when he was in an accident on Missouri Highway 47. He drove off the left side of the roadway, over-corrected, then his car overturned and hit a tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
King had worked with the Terre Du Lac Police Department for eight months. Before that, he worked with the Leadwood Police Department and the Bismarck Police Department.
He is survived by his wife Angela and their two children, Keira, 8, and Devin, 10, as well as his mother and father, Lisa and Michael King, and his sister Natalie Hinkle.
An account is being set up at Belgrade State Bank in Potosi, Mo. for donations for funeral and family expenses.
