St. Louis forecast: Showers and storms chances Wednesday pm, plenty of dry time

Our warm pattern continues with thunderstorm chances increasing into Thursday through the weekend. Severe weather is not expected this week.

ST. LOUIS — It was a warm day in St. Louis on Tuesday with a high temperature of 83. That's 10 degrees above average for this time of year! Wednesday, isolated shower/storm chances develop especially by the afternoon and evening as temperatures reach into the 80s once again. There will be plenty of dry time and many areas are likely to stay dry.

Thursday, temperatures stay warm with thunderstorm chances increasing by the evening and overnight hours. Those showers should clear away on Friday after the morning with temperatures cooling back into the 70s for highs. Severe weather is not expected, but upwards of 1" of rain is possible in some of the heaviest downpours.

Another fast moving system could slide in on Saturday with showers and some thunder possible. The stormy pattern continues into next week with more rain and thunderstorm chances into Monday and Tuesday.

With the recent rainfall, our rivers are on the rise across the Bi-state. By the end of the week, the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers will have crested just above flood stage. While only minor flooding will occur, it is notable that for many locations reaching flood stage, these are the highest levels in two to four years.
