Nicole Sanders is a digital video producer at 5 On Your Side and curates content for ksdk.com, 5+, YouTube, and the station’s mobile app.
She enjoys tackling breaking news, entertainment, and lifestyle features one lede at a time. Some of her more notable career moments are trial coverage of Beau Rothwell and Stephan Cannon, who was sentenced for the death of retired St. Louis Capt. David Dorn. However, she is passionate about providing a voice to the voiceless by shining a light on diverse communities across the area.
"St. Louis has such a rich history that I love to highlight. Just hand me a camera," jokes Nicole. "Each neighborhood is unique and has its own quirks. It's one of the reasons I love this town."
Nicole also prides herself on storytelling that pulls readers into the moment.
"I want readers to feel like they're in the room. I want them to feel and see the emotion in the atmosphere," she adds.
Nicole often analyzes news from a 140-character angle by scavenging social media for trending topics and breaking news.
She grew up in New Orleans and considers St. Louis her second home. In 2017, she graduated from Lindenwood University where she earned her degree in Journalism. Shortly after, she worked as a digital content creator at KMOV.
When she’s not shooting content, Nicole’s exploring hidden gems across town or at a local plant nursery looking for a new addition to take home.
