Local food truck favorite Farmtruk STL, from chef and owner Samantha Mitchell, will take over food service at Brick River Cider in Downtown West.

"I think Samantha's focus on fresh, local and free-range food offering is a great fit for us and our brand, and we're excited about the partnership," Russ John, owner and operator of Brick River, said.

Mitchell will now be fully in charge of Brick River's food offerings at the restaurant and cidery, located at 2000 Washington Ave. The partnership will bring food truck favorites like brisket mac and cheese, as well as some new items, to the brick-and-mortar space.

"Brick River's focus on making whole fruit juice hard ciders while supporting Midwestern fruit growers couldn't be more on target with our values," Mitchell said. "We're excited to bring some fun concepts to life that weren't possible in the food truck format."

Carlos Hernandez previously served as executive chef. Brick River's hours will remain unchanged, and Mitchell's food truck will continue serving customers throughout St. Louis.

John opened Brick River in February 2018 after the $2 million renovation of a former firehouse. The 8,000-square-foot upper level houses the restaurant and can accommodate about 120 guests. The 4,000-square-foot space downstairs houses the production facility and the bar.

Blackline Design + Construction served as the general contractor and architect for the project.
