Busch Stadium to host concert for two legendary singers

Billy Joel and Sting will bring their stadium tour to Bush Stadium on Friday, Sept. 27.

ST. LOUIS — Busch Stadium is hosting another massive concert this summer.

Billy Joel and Sting will bring their stadium tour to Bush Stadium on Friday, Sept. 27. Tickets will go on sale Friday, Jan. 12 at 10 a.m. at LiveNation.com and TicketMaster.com.

There will also be several presales including a Citi Bank presale on Jan. 8, a Verizon presale on Jan. 9 and multiple presales through the Cardinals for season ticket holders and other VIPs.

The Cardinals made the announcement at a news conference featuring Joe Buck and some Live Nation leaders.

Dave Girardi, Midwest President for Missouri for Live Nation, said the event will be a big draw for music lovers.

"One thing that's unusual or special about this show is the fact that this pairing of Billy Joel and Sting is really only happening at this point, there are only scheduled for three or four concerts, so this will definitely be a big travel event," he said.

The Cardinals will be in the middle of a six-game road trip when the concert comes to town.

This is the second major concert at Busch Stadium announced for the upcoming season.

Def Leppard and Journey will be starting their 23-city stadium tour on July 6 at Busch Stadium. Those two legendary acts will be joined by Cheap Trick at the St. Louis stop.

Tickets for that show went on sale to the general public on Dec. 15. For more information, visit the concert page on the Cardinals website here
