A new boutique that will have you driving to a cabin in the woods

There's an antique shop that just opened in the woods, on an amazing property that includes an 1800's wood cabin and English Tudor barn. Cabin in the Woods Antiques is 8 minutes from interstate 44 in Labadie, Missouri. The woman behind the business has a passion for old things.

Labadie, MO — Ruth Guerri Ebinger left a hectic modeling career and retreated in the woods. A wooded ridge top in Labadie, to be exact, where she lives with her husband in a log cabin that looks like something you'd see in a magazine.

"It's a wooded sanctuary. They are buildings that we love. They're filled with antiques from family, friends and neighbors," she said.

You won't find anything new in this cabin.

"Old things have a character, a feeling. They have a history. There's a totally different feeling to me. I would prefer to live in an old tiny shack than a new house," Ruth said.

Her mother was an antique dealer and ruth even owned an antique shop at one point in her life.

"And I can't stop buying antiques," she said.

So she decided to move some of those antiques to barn on her property and open an antique shop.

"My first day was last Saturday," she said.

Cabin in the Woods Antiques is by appointment only with public sales periodically that she'll post on her Facebook page.

"If folks would like to get a small group together, come out and shop and have lunch or high tea or dinner, they can give me a call and set all that up," she said.

Yes, Ruth cooks too. She has a food blog called Cabin in the Woods. She's a woman of many talents who is always thinking of things to do on her slice of wooded heaven in Labadie.

"We are offering the entire property as a location for photography, wedding photography, engagements, proms, parties, and we are offering the barn and my cooking for small events. It's endless," she said.
