Brown & Crouppen Talks Latest Email Scams

Cyber thieves try to up their game with the latest blackmail scam

ST. LOUIS – Cyber thieves are trying to up their game with the latest scam to collect money from people. Andy Crouppen from Brown & Crouppen says that hackers are sending mass emails to people saying that they have video footage of them and asking them to pay in bitcoin if they don’t want the footage being released. More than likely they have nothing, and you should never pay them.

Some ways to prevent being hacked is by changing your password frequently, using a password manager, and when making a password use a combination of numbers, symbols, and uppercase letters. Along with these tips, never click on links or open attachments from people you don’t know.
