Celebrate National Take a Chance Day

Step out of your comfort zone and take that leap of faith to chase your dreams.

MASSACHUSETTS, USA — April 23 is national take a chance day. It's a day to encourage people to step out of their comfort zone and take the little leap of faith to start accomplishing a goal or dream that they have put off.

It's also a time to reflect and celebrate a time in your life when you took a risk and it paid off. This morning, The Show Me team chatted about their own goals and risks taken in their lives.

Show Me St. Louis also wanted to use today to shout out a special 18-year-old who is taking his dreams to new heights.

Meet Ethan Guo from Massachusetts. He is 18 years old and is working toward an ambitious goal: flying solo across all seven continents.

His dream is fueled by his heart because he wants to raise $1,0000,000 for cancer research at  Saint Jude Children's Hospital.

"A couple of years back, my cousin who was 18 at the time, he was diagnosed with stage four. He was diagnosed with stage four Hodgkin's lymphoma," Guo says.

Guo had this dream since he was 13 and faced a few hurdles along the way. But this time, he is more determined than ever. If he succeeds, he'll become the youngest pilot to fly solo across all seven continents.

Now's your chance to be like Guo and start chasing your dreams. Share your moment on social media by using the #NationalTakeAChanceDay.
