ST. LOUIS — Friday, May 24th is Don't Fry Day. May is skin cancer awareness month. Ahead of the holiday weekend, experts are reminding the community to protect their skin during these hot summer months.
Dr. Michael Stratton, from Siteman Cancer Center, and Lillie Jackson with the American Cancer Society, stopped by Show Me St. Louis to share the importance of taking care of your skin. Dr. Stratton is dermatologist noted for his expertise in treating squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma, melanoma and other more rare forms of cutaneous cancer. Lilli Jackson is a public health and research professional with over 20 years of experience.
The two shared what are signs and symptoms to look out for, how treatable is skin cancer, and of course, what type of sunscreen should we be using. Take a look.
