Experience movie magic with shorts programming at the St. Louis International Film Festival

There are over 40 languages represented in the line up of films.

ST. LOUIS — We have been talking about it since the kickoff! The St. Louis International Film Festival (SLIFF) is bringing the movie magic to our community through this weekend.

SLIFF's programming is designed to get audiences out of their typical viewing routine.

"I love long movies, I love short movies, because they're all movies. That's the magic of movies," explained Joshua Ray.

Ray is the Narrative Shorts Programmer for SLIFF.

"You know, this is my second year doing it. So what I really wanted to do is lean into international," he said.

This year’s programming has over 40 languages represented in the line up.

"So, in all of the programs that we have, we're looking at global reach, right? A lot of the programs have a mix of English language and other languages as well," Ray said.

It’s really about trying something new and gaining a perspective that maybe you didn’t see before.

Are love stories your cup of tea? Moments in Love is a series of shorts playing this Friday night at the Alamo Drafthouse. "Which is just a bunch of sort of love stories from all different angles, including LGBTQ representation. There's queer films mixed throughout all of the programs here," he said.
