Great Rivers & Routes: Edwardsville, IL

Edwardsville has an incredible food scene, and you can get a great deal now, through Sunday thanks to Savor Restaurant Week.

Edwardsville, Illinois is a dining destination! From Mexican restaurants to Italian cuisine, to comfort food, they have it all. The President and CEO of the Great Rivers & Routes Tourism Bureau, Brett Stawar, says you can find something for everyone here. He goes on to say that there are a lot of great cultures that come together in Edwardsville and this creates a foodie scene unlike any other.

What better way to experience all that there is to offer than with Restaurant Week! The title of this event is Savor. Each restaurant creates a $10 lunch special and a $25 dinner special where chefs really get to show off their skills.

Savor is going on through Sunday, September 29. More than a dozen restaurants are participating, including Cleveland-Heath. This restaurant was started in 2012 by Culinary Institute of America graduates, and has been under new ownership for the past two years. Another participating restaurant is Chava’s, opened by the sister of the brothers who own the Chava’s in Soulard. Italian restaurant Bella Milano will have specials for Savor, too.

If you’re coming to Edwardsville for Savor, there are many reasons to stay a little longer. There are several historic attractions, great entertainment, weekend festivals, and more!
