Shriners Hospital for Children helps local teen born without arms play the game he loves – inspires the nation

MyShaun Dozier was born with TAR syndrome, but that doesn’t stop him from playing baseball.

ST. LOUIS — Summer means baseball for lots of people, and one young man in particular is loving his time on the field.

Shriners Hospital has made a big difference in 16-year-old MyShaun Dozier’s life. He was born TAR syndrome, which causes the radius bone in the arm not to develop.

With the limitation of not having arms, MyShaun has not let that stop him from playing the game he loves, and Shriners Hospital has helped make that possible. The staff’s goal in treating him has been to provide as much function as possible. They are trained to treat patients with rare conditions.

Shriners Hospital for Children is located at 4400 Clayton Avenue. Find out more about them and all the great work they do by calling 314-432-3600 or visit shrinershospitalforchildren.org.
