The Edge in Belleville opens go kart track, virtual reality ride

The entertainment center recently dropped about $4 million on some pretty cool additions

Belleville, IL — The Edge opened 20 years ago in Belleville and hasn't stopped growing. There's a laser tag arena, five movie theaters, and a sports bar and restaurant.

They just pump $4 million into the place, adding a go kart track, bumper cars, and virtual reality.
The go kart track is not flat. There are 3-foot banked turns and the speed can be adjusted on the electric go karts based on the rider's skill level, making them fun for kids and adults. As for the virtual reality corner, there are several attractions to choose from, including something called the 4D X rider.

Owner Keith Schell said, "It used to be a movie theater type event where you have 3D glasses and now they switched out to VR. Now when you are on the experience, you can look around and have the whole 360 degree experience. It is unbelievably fun."

The Edge is located at 701 S Belt West, Belleville
The number is (618) 236-2101.
