Career Central: Saint Louis Zoo to host two job fairs

ST. LOUIS — The Saint Louis Zoo will host two job fairs in the coming weeks.

The first is Sat., Jan. 20 from 9 a.m. to noon in The Living World at the zoo’s North Entrance.

The second happens from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 7, in The Living World at the zoo’s North Entrance.

These part-time jobs include catering and food service personnel, attraction operators, education interpreters, security beats, retail and parking lot attendants and more.

The zoo is seeking applicants with immediate availability starting as early as the beginning of March.

Flexible weekday and weekend positions are available for ages 15 (work permit required at time of hire) and up.

The job fair will include employment information, plus an opportunity to interview with possible same-day job offers, pending successful completion of the pre-employment paperwork process.

The zoo offers competitive hourly wages and free employee parking. Positions start at $13.50 per hour. Many weekday positions start at $15, based on availability, experience, or the ability to serve alcohol.

Advance registration to attend the job fair is not needed.

Dress is business casual.

All successful candidates will be required to submit to a criminal background check and a drug test.
