MetroLink incident leaves 3 injured near Shrewsbury, police say

Police responded to the Shrewsbury-Lansdowne MetroLink station.

ST. LOUIS — Three people were hurt and one person was arrested after an incident on the MetroLink Sunday.

One person was shot, one person was stabbed, and one person received a cut injury, St. Louis County Police said Sunday. All are expected to recover.

One person was arrested, police said. An altercation on the train was believed to have led to the shooting.

Police originally reported that the incident happened on the Blue Line train as it approached Sunnen Station in Maplewood. They have since said the incident actually took place at the Shrewsbury-Landsdowne I-44 station near the border of Shrewsbury and Lindenwood Park.

A large section of MetroLink was temporarily closed. MetroLink was stopped between the Shrewsbury-Lansdowne I-44 and Brentwood I-64 MetroLink stations. Service later resumed.

Police asked anyone with information to contact the St. Louis County Police Department at 636-529-8210.

This is a developing story. Additional details will be added.
