Castle Point homicide under investigation after man found shot to death Tuesday morning

St. Louis County police said the homicide investigation is ongoing. No suspect or suspects have been identified or taken into custody.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — An investigation is underway after a man was shot to death Tuesday morning in north St. Louis County. 

St. Louis County police said detectives with its Bureau of Crimes Against Persons are investigating a homicide in the 10000 block of Prince Drive in the Castle Point neighborhood. 

At about 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, officers with the department's North County Precinct responded to a 911 call about a shooting at the above location. When they arrived at the scene, they saw a man with an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment but died as a result of his injuries shortly after. 

The victim was identified as Marques Wright, 45. Police said Wright lived in the area where he was shot.

The circumstances that led up to the shooting remained unclear. No suspect or suspects were identified or taken into custody in connection to the man's death as of Tuesday afternoon. 

Police said the investigation is ongoing and any additional information will be released once it becomes available.
