Elderly woman shot in face with BB gun in south St. Louis

The 81-year-old woman did not get a good look at the driver, but she is hoping someone knows who he is and calls the police.

Norma Robinson, 81, has a piece of metal in her jaw after someone shot her at point-blank range with a BB gun.

“What he did, he reached his arm straight out the window and he aimed for my face,” Robinson said. “It was no reason. It was no reason.”

It happened Tuesday night. Robinson had just finished shopping at the Family Dollar Store on the 4200 block of South Broadway. She was walking through the parking lot when a driver of an SUV almost ran over her. She yelled at him to stop, then said she heard one 'pop' before the driver sped away. He circled back and pulled up next to her. He didn’t say a word when he pulled out the BB gun.

“He looked in my face and I looked in his face,” Robinson said. “He 'powed' straight at my face.”

Robinson covered her face and the man drove away. People at the strip mall called 911. Norma’s daughter took her to the ER. She may need surgery to remove the BB pellet.

Robinson did not get a good look at the driver, but she is hoping someone knows who he is and notifies the police.

“It's important to me because someone else might get hurt like that,” Robinson said.
