ST. LOUIS – The former mayor of Kinloch has been sentenced to prison time for submitting false employment records while serving time at a halfway house for a previous conviction.
Keith Conway, 49, was sentenced to six months in prison Monday. In November 2011 he was sentenced to 21 months in federal prison for using city money pay for personal expenses, and attempting to influence city officials to give false information to law enforcement during the investigation.
On May 1, 2013 Conway was transferred to the Dismas House re-entry center. As part of the living agreement, he was required to become employed full-time and submit paycheck stubs to the director of the home as verification. Conway created and submitted false payroll records, which allowed him to leave the home every day during his supposed shifts.
He pleaded guilty to four felony counts of filing false documents in September.
