Man killed in Wednesday night shooting in Velda City

VELDA CITY, Mo. — The St. Louis County Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting Wednesday night in Velda City.

According to a spokesperson for the St. Louis County Police Department, Velda City police were called to a parking lot on the 7100 block of Lexington Avenue at around 10:40 p.m. for a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. 

The man was taken to the hospital for treatment but died from his injuries a short time later. Police on Friday identified him as 46-year-old Romao Harris of Velda City.

The Velda City Police Department requested the St. Louis County Police Department to help with the investigation.

No other information has been provided.
