ST. LOUIS — A man was sentenced for a robbery of a fast food joint where he used to work Thursday.
Jonathan Davis, 24, was sentenced to 10 years and five months in prison for robbing a Steak 'N Shake in Berkeley, Missouri.
Davis was found guilty in a jury trial and will pay $3,715 in restitution.
Investigators say Davis worked at the Steak ‘N Shake at 9550 Natural Bridge Road in Berkeley until November 2020.
At 12:30 a.m. on January 23, 2021, Davis robbed the owner of the restaurant at gunpoint in the back office.
Davis spent the cash on rent, an iPhone and a diamond ring for his girlfriend. Investigators say he paid his girlfriend's cellphone bill and gave her cash.
Investigators also say Davis lost $1,000 in a scam involving an online car purchase.
The Berkeley Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation led the case.
