Man fatally shot in the head in north St. Louis' Kingsway West neighborhood Tuesday night

This was the 52nd homicide in the city so far this year, according to 5 On Your Side data.

ST. LOUIS — A man was fatally shot in the head in north St. Louis Tuesday night.

According to St. Louis police, a shooting happened just before 10 p.m. in the 5100 block of Lexington Avenue in north St. Louis' Kingsway West neighborhood. 

Responding officers found 31-year-old Demarko Henderson with a gunshot to the head. He was not conscious or breathing when they arrived and was pronounced dead shortly after.

St. Louis police's Homicide Division has been requested to investigate the scene.

This is the 52nd homicide in the city in 2024, according to 5 On Your Side data. 

Police said 48-year-old Tekeia Henderson was charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with the deadly shooting.
