Police: Woman fatally shot at Jennings liquor store, suspect remains at large

The woman arrived at the store with the suspect. Inside the store, a struggle ensued between them, and shots were fired.

JENNINGS, Mo. — A woman was shot and killed Sunday evening at a liquor store in north St. Louis County.

According to St. Louis County police, officers responded at about 6 p.m. Sunday at New York Market & Liquor, located at 8701 Jennings Station Road, for a report of a shooting. There, they found a woman who had been shot at least once.

Preliminary investigation revealed the woman had gone to the liquor store with the suspect. Once inside, a struggle ensued between them, and the suspect fired gunshots. He then fled the scene in an unknown direction.

The woman was taken to an area hospital for medical treatment, but she later died due to her injuries, police said. She was identified as 25-year-old Keila Buckner.

St. Louis County Police Department Crimes Against Persons detectives continued to investigate Monday morning.
