Man dies Thursday in north St. Louis County shooting

The victim was taken to an area hospital for live-saving treatment but later died.

RIVERVIEW, Mo. — A man was shot and killed Thursday night in north St. Louis County.

According to the St. Louis County Police Department, officers responded at about 7 p.m. Thursday to a ShotSpotter activation in the 200 block of Chambers Road in Riverview. There, they found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot injury.

Police the the victim was taken to an area hospital, where he later died as a result of his injuries.

He was identified by police as 34-year-old James Teague, Jr., of St. Louis.

The City of Riverview Police Department requested the St. Louis County Bureau of Crimes Against Persons to assume the active investigation.

No other details were available Friday morning, including what led up to the shooting or whether any arrests had been made.
