17-year-old injured after north St. Louis County shooting; another injured after crashing nearby

Police said a crash happened nearby as someone was trying to avoid the shooting involving the teenager.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A 17-year-old teenager has been taken to an area hospital for treatment after being shot in north St. Louis County's Spanish Lake neighborhood Wednesday afternoon. Another person was injured and taken to a hospital after crashing nearby. 

Officers from the North County Precinct of the St. Louis County Police Department responded to a call regarding a ShotSpotter activation near Larimore Road and Oak Parkway Lane in the Spanish Lake neighborhood shortly after 3 p.m., police said. Responding officers found a 17-year-old teenage boy with a gunshot wound. 

The victim was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  

Police also said a crash happened nearby as someone was trying to avoid the shooting involving the teenager. One person was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries from the crash.

There is no further information regarding the shooting or crash incident at this time.
