ST. LOUIS — Optimism Walk

Check-in: 9:30 a.m.

Walk begins: 10 a.m.

The annual Optimism Walk hosted by The American Parkinson Disease Association- Greater St. Louis Chapter is Saturday at Logan University. The walk is an important fundraising event. It offers a short, non-competitive walk, family-friendly activities, raffle, and more. The idea is to raise money and awareness in an effort to put an end to Parkinson disease. Pumpkin Wars: Chefs vs. Surgeons

Sunday, October 20

1 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Local chefs and Wash-U surgeons at St. Louis Children’s Hospital are putting their pumpkin carving skills to the test! Contestants on each team will go head-to-head to see who can carve the most creative pumpkin. The unique and one-of-a-kind pumpkins will be auctioned off to benefit St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Along with the competition, there will be food trucks, balloon art, vendors, a kid’s play zone, and more! Children can wear costumes and trick-or-treat at participating Interior Design Center stores. Eat and Treat

Saturday, October 19

11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The Rizzuto Show’s third annual Eat and Treat event presented by First Community is Saturday at Chesterfield Amphitheater. It’s a fun day of eats from local area food trucks and treats for the kids! There will be free Rizz Show Halloween bags, live music, pro-wrestling, face painting, balloon artists, and trick-or-treating, of course! For more information, click here.



Bellefontaine Cemetery Tour

1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Take an in-depth tour of Bellefontaine Cemetery with YAFSTL and Dr. Jon Davey, Professor of Architecture at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Bellefontaine Cemetery is home to amazing horticulture, history, and architecture. After the cemetery tour, there is a gathering at a local brewery for happy hour. Great Grilled Cheese Off (#GGCO)

12 p.m. – 6 p.m.

The 2nd Annual Great Grilled Cheese Off is an event where eight local restaurants will battle for the title of “Greatest Grilled Cheese.” The #GGCO is sponsored by St. Louis Community Credit Union and gathers the best grilled cheese sandwiches in the area to Forest Park. Attendees will be the judges! There will also be local artists, crafters, nonprofits, and business vendors with cheese-themed merchandise. Tickets to the event are $25. Chance the Rapper at Enterprise Center

7 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Boo at the Zoo

5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

The zoo is fun all the time, but especially during Boo at the Zoo! Gather up the family and head to the Saint Louis Zoo to enjoy Halloween decorations, entertainment, activities, kids’ games, and more! Shaw Pumpkin Glow and Childrens Costume Parade

The Shaw Pumpkin Glow and Children’s Costume Parade is Saturday evening! This annual event takes place on the 4000 block of Flora. The parade is at the start of the event at 5 p.m. The pumpkins will be displayed, and there will be crafts, pumpkin decorating, a Halloween movie, and more! For more information, click here

Reggae @ The Winery

4 p.m. – 9 p.m.

10th CFO Haunted Trail

Saturday, October 19

6:30 p.m. – 11:40 p.m.

 Embark on a twenty-minute long graveled walking thrill at The Haunted Trail. There will be eerie wooded trails, and the object is to make it out alive! If you survive the trail, hang out and enjoy a bonfire, food, drinks, and more. Mercy Kids is sponsoring the event, and it’s hosted by Cottleville Firefighters Outreach.
