Victim, suspect identified in apparent murder-suicide in south city

ST. LOUIS — Police have identified the two people shot to death in south St. Louis on Monday.

The shooting is being investigated as an apparent murder-suicide. Police have listed Dana Mullen, 38, as the victim and John Griffin, 51, as the suspect.

According to a police report from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, Mullen and Griffin were found in the 5500 block of Dewey around 5 p.m. with gunshot wounds to their heads. This is in the Holly Hills neighborhood.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene, and police recovered a gun from the residence.
