MISSOURI, USA — The Missouri Democratic Party has announced in-person voting sites for the party-run presidential primary election scheduled for Saturday.

Democrats will hold presidential preference elections statewide from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 23.

Saturday’s primary is the Missouri Democratic Party’s first party-run presidential contest since the law took effect in August 2022. The event is not an Iowa-style caucus, where participants vote by moving around the room to form candidate preference groups and deliberate with other caucusgoers. Missouri voters will show up at a voting center, cast a secret ballot and leave as soon as they have turned in that ballot.

The party designated a total of 13 sites for counties in the metro St. Louis area, including four each in St. Louis City and St. Louis County.

Who can vote?

Missouri voters who mailed in ballots should have been requested on the party’s website by Tuesday, March 12, and must be returned by March 23. Missouri voters who had registered by Feb. 21 with the Missouri secretary of state's office are eligible to vote in the Missouri Democratic presidential preference primary election, so long the voter is not registered as a Republican.

What is on the ballot?

President Joe Biden, Jason Palmer, Marianne Williamson, Dean Phillips, and two others. "Uncommitted" is also an option.

When will we know the results?

Votes will be counted, and the announcement will be made by Thursday, March 28.

Saturday’s primary is the Missouri Democratic Party’s first party-run presidential contest since the law took effect in August 2022.
